Summary :
The Gift of the Magi is a short story, written by O. Henry about the story between a couple of husband and wife and how they deal with the challenge of buying secret Christmas gifts for each other with very little money. As a sentimental story with a moral lesson about gift-giving, it has been popular for adaptation, especially for presentation at Christmas time.

In the short story The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry, the setting of this story is on the christmas. The conflict in the story are Della not having enough money to buy Jim a gift, because of this she cuts her hair to make money so she can afford a gift for him, and Jim sold the watch to buy combs to gives Della a gift.
The climax conflict from this story is Della and Jim exchange the gifts for the christmas. Both Jim and Della have been lumbered with gifts that are effectively useless, Jim doesn't have a watch to go with his shiny new watch-chain, and Della can't use her pretty new combs because she no longer has enough hair.
My Opinion About The Story :

In my opinion realization on the part of the couple that the love they have for each other is so much more important than any material gift.
