           The conflicts of Rip Van Winkle

   Rip van winkle is a short story by the American author, Washington Irving, first published in 1819. Rip Van has two children named Rip and Judith. Morning and night his wife always told him to take a job but he is a lazy, Rip Van never answered her that's makes her angrier. One day, Rip Van leaved his wife at the Catskill mountain with his lovely companion his dog. In the late afternoon, Rip sat on one of the mountains tree. For a long time, he watched the beautiful of Hudson river. When he goes down to the mountain, Rip met a funny looking man (a dwarf), the man has something on his back, a big barrel. He wants rip to carry the barrel. Rip walked up the mountain  with the funny looking man, sometimes he carries the barrel to help him, the funny looking man says nothing.      
  When the man begin to play again, rip has a drink more and more because he feels thirsty. Soon Rip Van is tired of drinking, and he goes to sleep. When Rip opened his eyes, it's a sunny morning. He cries "oh no! My wife doesn't like me to sleep away from home!". Rip remembered his night on the mountain. He stand up but finds he can't moved very easily, and where is the dog?.
In the village, some children laughed at him. The buildings, the people, and their clothes are all different. Rip feels afraid. He finds his home with no windows and door. And where are his wife and children?. Rip doesn't understand, just then he puts his hand to face and finds he has a long beard.      
   So, he runs to the village inn. Rip doesn't know any of the people in front of the inn, he asks "does no body here knows Rip Van Winkle?" Yes, that's Rip Van Winkle next to the tree". One man says "Rip sees a young man in his clothes". He thinks "is that me?". But before old rip van winkle can speak to him, a young woman next to him says to her baby,"quite Rip!". He heard the baby's name and turned to her." What's your name?" He asks." Judith" she answered." And your father name?"." Rip van winkle" she said." And where is he?"."Nobody knows" she said." After his walks into a mountain twenty years ago","and your mother?" Rip asks." She dead", Judith said, then rip laughed "I'm your father!" He cries." young Rip Van Winkle then and old rip van winkle now. Don't any of you know me?". An old woman looks into his face "yes it's Rip Van Winkle" she said." After twenty years, welcome home, old friend".
     So, old Rip Van Winkle goes to live with Judith, and his son went to work on the old farm sometimes. And everyday without his wife there to tell him he is a lazy. Old rip goes to the inn, has a drink, and tells his funny looking man stories to the visitors staying there.
