Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is a famous creator of fiction stories from U.K. One of his famous stories is the adventure of Sherlock Holmes. But, here I’m going to tell you about his other story, B 24 which was published for the first time in The Stand Magazine in March 1899.
This story tells us about a man in a trial that fought for his freedom from an unfair punishment. He became a suspect in the murder case of Lord Mannering. He told the whole story, the really real story to the judge. He tried to defend himself but no one listened to him. He talked to the judge that he was not guilty. He asked the judge to see the reality and not to corner him. He knew that all these things were because of the wealth. No one would listen to him because he was poor and had nothing.
The real suspect was Lord Mannering’s wife, Lady Mannering. He told everyone that she murdered her own husband by herself. He was so disappointed because everybody decided to choose the wrong person to be not guilty. He told the chronology was when he tried to robber a big and luxurious house, Lord Mannering’s house. He heard someone coming out, so he hid in the garden of that house. Then he heard a voice calling him. He saw a beautiful woman, Lady Mannering coming to him and invited him to come to that house. He followed her and took a look the house inside. She gave him a chance to robber her house. That confused him and he asked why the lady did that. Then she said that she hated her husband with a reason. But when they were talking, suddenly Lord Mannering woke up from his sleep. So they both were hiding in a room. A few minutes, the lord fell asleep again and the lady asked him to murder her husband. This really confused him and he rejected to do this, so she murdered her husband by herself. At once, the lord was murdered and the lady screamed till a security caught them in that room. The lady told the security that her husband was murdered by that man.
Once more, no one believed his story. He said that Lady Mannering wanted to master her husband’s wealth, so she murdered the lord. Finally, he could just receive the judge’s decision to make him as a suspect.
This story has some advantages and disadvantages:
-          Advantages
a.       Its moral values are you must do the right things if you don’t want such the bad things come to you and you must be fair as long as it’s in a right way.
b.      This story can be enjoyed as a good story with the easy plot.
c.       This story must be interesting for the lovers of this genre.
-          Disadvantages
a.       This story is rather difficult to be understood.
b.      The title doesn’t show the content.

SYAHRUL MUKAROM 183211051 b.24 My opinion about the story is short tittle and very simple, but difficult to understanding it. I don’t know about a reason of the author to give tittle “b24”. This is make the reader ask about it, and make the story very interesting. The reader must know that we can take many moral messages from the story. About the law, injustice, and the rich. The parcipants of the story are Thief as suspected, Lady Mannering as a murderer, lord mannering as victim, and judge.       About the thief, although he was thief  because he have one reason and direction to do it. To continue he life, he have not the work that time. The Moral Values of RIP Van Winkle By : Washington Irving The moral values that I have seen from 'Rip Van Winkle story is that time goes on and things keep changing whether a person is there or not. In the story, Rip takes a 21 year nap, but time does not stop the world keeps changing. Even though Rip is not aware of all of the changes going on, its still happen. When he awakes, Rip finds that there are some changes that he likes. For example, when he was going to the place where there had been a school and asked the crowd that had gathered and somebody said that everything had changed and finally he found his daughter. There were also some changes he didn't like, such as his dog getting older and his children growing up although Rip Van Winkle had been upset because he missed many important events.
