She is happy, but then she regret her act to cut her hair. Then Della give the gift for Jim, but what can they do? Jim sold his watch to buy the combs for Della. Then, think that both of the gifts are useless, they put their gifts away and have their dinner.
The magi in this story means the wise men. In this story both Della and Jim are not wise because the sell their most valuable things they have to by gifts. But looking at their sacrifice to prove their love, make them wise. But, it is disappointed that their sacrifise is useless. Della gets combs but she sold her hair to buy gift for Jim. At the same time, Jim gets gold chain for his watch, but he sold his watch to buy gift for Della. They think about their beloved person very much. They want the best gift for each other. Here can be felt how deep their feeling, their love, until they can do something so difficult, the last thing they will do. The moral value of this story is, sacrifice is needed, but we must be wise when do something for our beloved person. the other moral value is, how precious the gifts are, love is the most valuable. After all, the story can make the reader drifting to the story line and how are the character’s feeling. It’s an awesome story.
