THE SIGNAL-MAN
It's a horror story made by Charles Dickens. first published as part of the Mugby Junction collection in the 1866 Christmas edition of All the Year Round. 
and I will tell you the story in my version.
This  story began when the writer called the signal-man. But, he who was standing near the rail train doesn’t replied. The writer called him again and asked his permission to came down. He looked reluctant when the writer came.

He asked the writer that were they had been met before. The writer said that they were never have been met before that day.  The signal-man conveyed the writer into his office. They were talking about the signal-man’s life. The writer imagined that he was a polite officer, except when he always looked at the door twice when the bell wasn’t rang. But he doesn’t tell it to the signal-man. Until he wanted to go, the signal-man said that don’t ever called him again liked that.

The day after, liked the instruction of the signal-man, the writer doesn’t called him. And made a choice to came down without permission. But they were met. The signal-man told that he felt a ghost was disturb him that he saw near the mouth of tunnel. But the writer doesn’t believe what he said.

After that day, they met again. And the signal-man told that one day when he was checking the rail train, he heard a man was call him near the mouth of tunnel. That man called him like what the writer did. He waved his hand and the other hand cover his half face. He looked like gave a reminder. But, when the signal-man ran to the mouth of tunnel, that man was gone. And a few hours later, a train accident did so tragic.

The writer still doesn’t believe. And thought that the signal-man was crazy. A few days after, the writer came back and he looked a man who standing near the mouth of the tunnel. He wasn’t ghost, he was an officer who was investigated a tragedy that happened there. The writer came to him and shocked when he knew that the signal-man died because he got a struck by the train. The ship’s engineer said that he gave a signal for the signal-man to went away from the rai train. But, he doesn’t hear. And the tragedy doesn’t spared again.

SYAHRUL MUKAROM 183211051 b.24 My opinion about the story is short tittle and very simple, but difficult to understanding it. I don’t know about a reason of the author to give tittle “b24”. This is make the reader ask about it, and make the story very interesting. The reader must know that we can take many moral messages from the story. About the law, injustice, and the rich. The parcipants of the story are Thief as suspected, Lady Mannering as a murderer, lord mannering as victim, and judge.       About the thief, although he was thief  because he have one reason and direction to do it. To continue he life, he have not the work that time. The Moral Values of RIP Van Winkle By : Washington Irving The moral values that I have seen from 'Rip Van Winkle story is that time goes on and things keep changing whether a person is there or not. In the story, Rip takes a 21 year nap, but time does not stop the world keeps changing. Even though Rip is not aware of all of the changes going on, its still happen. When he awakes, Rip finds that there are some changes that he likes. For example, when he was going to the place where there had been a school and asked the crowd that had gathered and somebody said that everything had changed and finally he found his daughter. There were also some changes he didn't like, such as his dog getting older and his children growing up although Rip Van Winkle had been upset because he missed many important events.
